Description
The Vineyards
Grown at an altitude of 300 metres, the Syrah comes from the Sobreira de Baixo vineyard, at the foot of the slope, facing north-west beside the Arraiolos stream. The Touriga Nacional comes from the Cabido vineyard, on clay-sand soils.
Winemaking
The grapes were hand-picked into 25 kg boxes and taken straight to the winery, where they were kept in a cold room for 24 hours. They were then sorted, pneumatically pressed and decanted. Alcoholic fermentation began in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. Part of the batch was racked into 500-litre barrels to complete fermentation. The fine lees were kept in contact with the wine.
Tasting Notes
The nose is fine and precise, with delicate floral notes and a subtle touch of violet, wrapped in fresh red fruit and a light citrus hint. The palate is very elegant, with well-integrated acidity, a silky texture and a harmonious profile. The finish is long and persistent, with a sense of lightness and definition. Versatile and food-friendly, it pairs well with light dishes such as ceviche, salads and carpaccio, or can be enjoyed on its own.
